OIC Secretary General Receives Minister of African Integration of Cote d’Ivoire
18/04/2017- The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, received in his office on 17 April 2017 His Excellency Mr. Ally Coulibaly, Minister of African Integration and Ivoirians Abroad of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.
The Secretary General and the Minister of Côte d'Ivoire discussed a wide range of issues relating to the relations between the OIC and Côte d'Ivoire. During the meeting, the two sides explored ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation relations.
The talks focused on preparations for the 44th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, scheduled for 10-11 July 2017 in Abidjan. They also highlighted the importance of investment, development projects in Côte d'Ivoire and security challenges related to the fight against terrorism in the Sahel region.
The Ivorian Minister has expressed the wish of the Head of State of Côte d'Ivoire, His Excellency Alassane Ouattara, to have the OIC extend fullassistance to ensure the success of the next CFM meeting. The Secretary General, for his part, assured the Ivorian side of the OIC’s effective support in this regard, so that the resolutions to be adopted serve the cause of the entire Islamic Ummah.
