Iranians all over the world voting today: Former Swedish FM

Tehran, May 19, IRNA – “Iranians all over the world voting today. Here long lines in Paris. Many polling stations also in the US, “Carl Bildt, the former Swedish foreign minister said on Friday.

He made the remarks in a tweet message, released in his twitter account.

Presidential as well as city and village councils elections are being held across Iran on Friday.

The presidential candidates include President Hassan Rouhani, Custodian of Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine Ebrahim Raeisi, former minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mostafa Aqa Mirsalim and former minister of Physical Education Mostafa Hashemi Taba.

According to the reports, over 56 million of Iranians are eligible to go to the polls. Out of the total eligible voters over 1.3 million are those who vote for the first time.
