OIC Secretary General Meets the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan

21/09/2017- On the sidelines of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York the OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdul Aziz Kamilov.

The OIC Secretary General applauded the leadership of Uzbekistan and expressed appreciation for the successful holding of the Council of Foreign Ministers last year in Tashkent. He underlined the importance of the resolutions by the OIC Council of Foreign Minister and the need to follow up their implementations accordingly.

Both parties stressed on the important role played by Uzbekistan in the field of education including the establishment of Imam Bokhari Center.

They also discussed some regional and international issues and agreed to continue their cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
