Iran first Vice President officially welcomes Armenian PM

October 09, 2017 - Iran's First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri officially welcomed Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan at the Sadabad Complex in north of Tehran on Monday.

Karapetyan heading a high-ranking delegation arrived in the Iranian capital today to hold talks with the Iranian officials, IRNA reported.

Jahangiri and Karapetyan are scheduled to hold bilateral and multilateral talks in different fields.

Upon arrival at the Mehrabad International Airport, the Armenian premier was welcomed by caretaker of Iran's Energy Minister Sattar Mahmoudi.

Armenian Ambassador to Iran Artashes Tomanian, had recently said that Iran and Armenia, despite being neighbors have failed to use all the capacities to promote bilateral relations, especially in tourism sector.

“The Republic of Armenia could serve as a gateway for Iran to access Eurasian markets,” Tomanian said.
