Two awards for Iranian cinema at Italian event
October 22, 2017 - Two Iranian films (one feature and one documentary) won two prizes at the Religion Today Film Festival in Italy.
Iranian feature film 'Coldness', directed by brothers Bahram and Bahman Ark, won the People and Religions award at the Religion Today Film Festival, ISNA reported.
It won the best director award for Bahram and Bahman Ark in the official competition of Casa Asia Film Festival (Barcelona). The film also brought the Ark brothers and Ali Moslemi the Young Jury award for best screenwriter at the same festival.
'A157', an Iranian war documentary by Behrouz Nouranipour also won the Best Documentary award at the festival.
It narrates the story of three girls recounting their stories of war and violence in a land where people no longer have dreams.
Earlier, the documentary won two awards at Signes de Nuit International Film Festival (Italy), best feature-length documentary award at the 16th Watch Docs (Poland), main prize of the 'Zeichen der Nach' International Film Festival in Germany, the Audience Award at the 'Chambery' Festival in France.
Religion Today Film Festival was held from October 13 to 22 in Trento, Italy.
