Official calls for enhanced Iran-Kyrgyzstan cooperation in technical, engineering fields

Tehran, IRNA - The head of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines said here on Monday it is necessary to expand cooperation between Iran and Kyrgyzstan in technical and engineering fields, establish a direct flight, and facilitate issuance of visas to boost bilateral trade.
Gholam Hossein Shafeie said in a meeting with visiting deputy Kyrgyz Trade Minister Qyrat Turbayev that the two countries have lots of cultural commonalties and their relations date back in remote history, and besides many of our citizens in Gorgan and Golestan provinces are Kazakhs.
The meeting between the two officials was in the presence of Kyrgyzstan’s ambassador to Iran Askhat Orazbayon, Deputy International Affairs Head of Iran Chamber Mohamamd Reza Karbasi, and the Head of Iran-Kyrgyzstan Joint Chamber Amir Abedi.
The head of Iran Chamber of Commerce Gholam-Hossein Shefeie said that Kazakhstan is the largest Central Asian country that has developed noticeably after gaining independence and its economic laws are established based on modern rules of free economy.
“The bilateral political relations are firmly stable and Kazakhstan’s independent method for dealing with Iran is highly respectable,” he added.
Qyrat Turbayev, the deputy Kyrgyz trade minister, too, said in the meeting that the two countries’ historical relations date back to centuries ago, and the two countries have never directly encountered each other in wars of disputes, which shows we can have good relations.
The Kyrgyz deputy minister said that Iran is a strategic partner of his country and the establishment of Kyrgyzstan’s Trade Ministry was aimed at establishment of relations with regional countries.
“Iran is one of the most important countries and that is the reason why a business delegation from Kazakhstan, comprised of 20 Kazakh trade companies, has come to Iran to deepen the bilateral trade ties with Iranian partners,” he said.
Referring to the transportation issue, Turbayev said that his country take advantage of every possible opportunity for improving its trade ties, and the water, rail, land and air routes are used for that purpose, whose capacities need to be modernized in order to take best advantage of them.
