OIC Secretary General Receives Algeria’s Permanent Representative to the OIC

23/02/2017 - Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, received in his office, on Thursday, 23 February 2017, Mr. Ahmed Abdulsadouq, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Riyadh and Permeant Representative to the OIC, who deliveredto the Secretary General a message from H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Algeria,Ramtane Lamamra.

In his message, the Minister commended the OIC’s 2016 Islamophobia Report and the efforts exerted by the OIC at different levels to counter manifestations of hate against Islam and Muslims. He also underlined the need for consolidatedefforts at the national and international levels to promote values of harmony and reconciliation among nations and inter-faith and intercultural dialogue.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed bilateral relations between the OIC and Algeria and the ongoing preparations for holding the next session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Côte d’Ivoire next July.
