The OIC Secretary General Receives Kazakhstan’s Special Envoy to the OIC
17/05/2017- The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen received today, 17 May 2017 in his office, Mr. Bagdad Amreyev, Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the OIC.
During the meeting, the Secretary General and the Kazakhstan Special Envoy reviewed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Summit on Science and Technology scheduled for September 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The two sides emphasized the importance of the development of science and technology in the OIC countries and urged for the optimum participations of the Member States in the Summit.
The Secretary General and Mr. Bagdad Amreyev also reviewed the current state of bilateral relation between the OIC and Kazakhstan on wide range of issues of mutual interest and common concern; and underscored the important role of OIC in promoting the developmental agendas and ensuring successful peaceful resolution of crises in OIC Member States, including combatting terrorism and violent extremism.
