ICCIMA member: Iran’s trade center in Syria to open soon
January 11, 2019 - Iran’s trade center in Syria will be open in two weeks in a ceremony to be attended by Iranian First Vice President Es'haq Jahangiri, said a member of the board of directors of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) said.
Hossein Pirmoazen added the establishment of the center is aimed at facilitating trade between Iran and Syria, noting that it will prepare the ground for increasing economic exchanges between the two countries’ businessmen, reported Trend News Agency.
He noted that an economic delegation from the northern Iranian province of Ardabil will soon visit Syria to explore ways to expand economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Pirmoazen said the Iranian government should further support the country’s private sector to help it increase investment in different national and international projects.
Describing as essential the government’s support for domestic agro sector sector, he noted that, “The domestic agro sector should prioritize further mechanization of the processes in the sector, promoting greenhouse farming and cultivation of medicinal plants to increase its production, enter foreign markets and export its products.”
