Ambassador of the Netherlands to Saudi Arabia Visits OIC

21/02/2017 - Ambassador Abdullah Alim, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, received, in his office on Thursday, 16 February 2017, Joost Reintjes, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Kingdom of Saudi, and the Dutch Envoy to the Gulf states, Ambassador Willem Van Haeften.

The Dutch Ambassador appreciated the OIC efforts on the international and regional levels, expressing his country's wish to deepen relations with the OIC in all areas of common interest.

On his part, Ambassador Alim commended the attention given by the Netherlands to the OIC activities. He also pointed out that the OIC is keen to enhance its bilateral relations with the Netherlands in order to support dialogue and understanding on many international issues.

During the meeting a number of topics of common interest were addressed, including the issue of cooperation between the OIC and EU, especially in the field of combating terrorism and Islamophobia
