Al-Othaimeen Meets Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Discusses Issues of Mutual Interest

09/05/2017- The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on 8 May 2017 to discuss political developments and issues of common concern.

During the meeting, Erdogan stressed Turkey's continued support for the OIC and its role in promoting joint Islamic action in order to uphold the causes of the Muslim Ummah in general and the Palestinian cause in particular. On his part, the Secretary General paid tribute to the constructive positions of the Turkish Republic and its active initiatives to promote joint Islamic action.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the two-day International Forum of Endowments for Al-Quds, held in Istanbul.
