OIC General Secretariat Condemns the Violence in the Central African Republic
15/05/2017- The OIC General Secretariat expressed its strong condemnation of the acts of violence perpetrated at Bangassou in Central Africa, by Anti Balaka militias, on 12-13 May 2017, which claimed the lives of dozens of dead among Muslims and UN peacekeepers, including a soldier from the Kingdom of Morocco and five others of different nationalities, as well as the displacement of hundreds of unarmed civilians.
The OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, extended his condolences to the families of the victims and to the Kingdom of Morocco. He also expressed deep regret over the occurring violence over there, stressing the organization’s solidarity with the Central African Republic and its readiness to provide full support for peace and reconciliation between different races and restore security and stability.
