^{OIC Secretary General Meets with Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan}

^{21/05/2017- The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, held on 21 May 2017 in Riyadh a meeting with His Excellency Kairat Abdrakhmanov, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.}

^{The Secretary General and the Kazakh Minister discussed a wide range of issues relating to the relations between the OIC and Kazakhstan. The two sides further exchanged views on the preparations for the forthcoming OIC Summit on Science and Technology to be hosted in Astana, Kazakhstan, in September 2017. The Summit will highlight the importance of science and technology for socio-economic development of the OIC Member States and lay down the OIC agenda for the next ten years by proposing new programmes, including implementation strategies and monitoring modalities.}

^{The Secretary General and the Foreign Minister also discussed the progress of work at the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), which is expected to provide expertise and technical knowledge on the various aspects related to sustainable agriculture, rural development, and food security.}
