Secretary General congratulates the Islamic Ummah on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha 1438 A.H.

31/08/2017- The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen expresses his heartfelt congratulations to the Islamic Ummah on the advent of Eid Al-Adha 1438 A.H. On this auspicious occasion celebrated by Muslims worldwide, the Secretary General beseeched Almighty Allah to accept the deeds of the masses of pilgrims who headed to the Kaabah and to the other holy sites and to reward them abundantly, praying for their safe return to their homes and families.

The Secretary General expressed hope that Muslims take their unity and compassion during the performance of haj as a means and example to bolster their unity and solidarity and realize the hopes and aspirations of the peoples of the Muslim world.

He conveyed thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz and to his Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, May Allah protect them, for the great priority the Government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attach to serving pilgrims, visitors and umrah performers and for providing all needed services, facilities, equipments and infrastructure that pilgrims may perform their rites with ease and in peace and safety. He commended the extension works of the two holy mosques, the holy sites and all other sites of destination.

Al-Othaimeen said that the meetings of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers have over the past years been adopting resolutions through which member states unanimously voice the Muslim world’s thanks and gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for the great and effective efforts exerted to serve and care for pilgrims, umrah performers and visitors and to provide all requisite equipments and the successive extensions of the Two Holy Mosques for the service of millions of their visitors.
