OIC Condemns the Terrorist Attack in Jeddah
07/10/2017- The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the terrorist attack against an outdoor security checkpoint of the Royal Guard in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which caused the death of two security guards and the injury of others.
The OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, expressed sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished for speedy recovery to the wounded. He reaffirmed the OIC’s solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in countering terrorism that seeks to destabilize the Kingdom and undermine its security, and voiced support for all actions taken by the Kingdom to face the plans of terrorist groups and organizations, defend the country’s security and preserve the safety of its citizens.
Al-Othaimeen commended the vigilance of Saudi security guards who faced and thwarted this terrorist operation, stating that those who planned and executed this operation are pursuing a desperate plan to undermine the security of the Kingdom.
The Secretary General reiterated the OIC’s principled position which denounces all terrorist acts.
