Qatar's Nebras Power to Invest $1b in Indonesia Project

Jakarta Globe | October 24, 2017- Qatar's Nebras Power has agreed to invest $1 billion in a natural gas-fired power station on the island of Sumatra and related floating infrastructure to process liquefied natural gas, or LNG, Indonesia's deputy energy minister said on Monday (23/10).

Of that amount, $800 million would go toward a power station and the remaining $200 million was for a floating storage and regassification unit (FSRU), Deputy Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arcandra Tahar told reporters.

Arcandra added that domestically produced gas would be prioritized as feedstock for the plant, but said gas imports could happen "if necessary" at a maximum price of 14 percent of the Indonesian Crude Price.
