24/06/2018- The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold a workshop in preparation for the Seventh Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in Development in Member States on 28-29 June 2018, in Ouagadougou, capital city of the Republic of Burkina Faso.

The workshop aims to examine issues to be discussed at the conference and documents to be presented to the Senior Officials’ Meeting preparatory for the Seventh Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in Development scheduled for 28 November this year in Burkina Faso.

The workshop is to be attended by relevant OIC organs and institutions, members of the Advisory Council for Women in the framework of the Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in Development in Member States and a number of institutions working in the field of women empowerment in Burkina Faso.

The workshop provides an opportunity to discuss many papers and documents presented to the conference, including the efforts of the OIC organs and institutions in the field of women empowerment, the enrichment of the Family Bank project paper sponsored by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and the Concept Paper on the OIC Award for Women Achievements, the first edition of which was called for by the Forty-fifth session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, held in Dhaka in 2018, to be organized during the above-mentioned Seventh Ministerial Conference.
