Iran Chamber of Commerce Vice President Hossein Pirmoazzen left for Baku on Wednesday at the head of a delegation of business representatives to discuss expanding economic cooperation with Azerbaijan and follow up on agreements reached during last year’s meeting between the two countries’ presidents.

Pirmoazzen, who also heads the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Chamber of Commerce, is accompanied by Ardebil Governor Masoud Emami Yeganeh on the visit. The delegation will hold talks with Azerbaijani government officials, chamber of commerce representatives and business leaders on accelerating the implementation of bilateral agreements, removing trade barriers, promoting joint investment and expanding private sector cooperation. Pirmoazzen was also part of the Iranian economic delegation that accompanied President Masoud Pezeshkian during his visit to Azerbaijan last year, when Tehran and Baku signed a series of agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral economic ties.
