Iran, Turkey FMs discuss energy cooperation, regional issues
Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, heading a high-ranking delegation, met with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in Istanbul on Monday.
During the meeting, the top diplomats expressed solidarity in the fight against the novel coronavirus and conferred on the ways to compensate the decline of trade between Iran and Turkey due to four months of coronavirus restrictions.
In the meeting, Zarif stressed the need for resumption of gas exports and reconstruction of the damaged section of the gas pipeline.
They also agreed to hold Astana-format online summit on Syria in upcoming weeks and then hold a face-to-face meeting in Tehran as soon as possible.
Ongoing situation in Syria, Yemen and Libya as well as fighting against terrorism were also among the most important issues discussed by the two sides.
