Algeria, South Africa seeking to develop energy partnerships
March 3, 2017 - Energy Minister, Noureddine Boutarfa and South Africa ambassador to Algiers Dennis Dlomo on Thursday examined the relations between the two countries, notably in the field of energy and renewable energies, said a ministry communiqué.
During his meeting with South Africa's ambassador, Boutarfa insisted on the "need for the two countries to work together to boost beneficial partnerships in the field of hydrocarbons and the renewable energies, in particular," said the same source.
In this regard, the minister called for "intensifying consultations to achieve together wealth-generating project, in which the African skills can work in the benefit of the continent," said the communiqué, adding that "Africa's development and future are priority for both countries."
The two officials said that experts would be designated in order to "identify concrete projects to be materialized as soon as possible."
Besides, workshops will be organized to enable companies and investors from both countries to "better spot business opportunities and to increase the Algerian- South African cooperation on Africa's structuring projects."
