Rouhani, Putin confer in Kremlin on global developments
Moscow, March 28, IRNA -- President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin conferred on Tuesday on issues of mutual interests as well as regional and global developments in Kremlin.
In extensive talks between the two presidents, Vladimir Putin said that Iran is a good neighbor and a stable and confident partner for Russia.
'Relations between the two sides is long-lasting and their diplomatic relations dated back to over 500 years ago,' he said.
Putin said that Moscow and Tehran have closely worked together in all fields and resolved difficult economic problems of the world.
The two sides have attained significant achievements in all fields, Putin said while referring to 70 percent rise in trade exchanges between the two countries in 2016 as compared to the corresponding period 2015.
The current economic status in the world is very complicated and the advancements in the period achieved under relentless efforts of both side presidents, he said.
In the meeting, the two presidents are to issue a joint statement focusing on expansion of comprehensive strategic cooperation.
The two sides also signed some 14 documents on various fields such as consulate, tourism, economic, telecommunications, legal and judiciary at Kremlin palace.
President Rouhani, heading a high ranking politico-economic delegation, arrived in Moscow on Monday upon invitation by his Russian counterpart and has met the country’s high ranking officials during his two day stay.
