Iran-China trade turnover registers a 22% increase

Trend | December 4, 2017- Trade turnover between Iran and China stood at $30.4 billion in the first 10 months of 2017.

The figure indicates a rise by 22 percent compared to January-October 2016, according to the latest data released by the Chinese Customs Administration.

China's exports to Iran in the 10-month period amounted to $14.937 billion, 15 percent more year-on-year.

China exported $1.593 billion worth of goods to the Islamic Republic in October 2017, compared to $1.614 billion worth of exports in October 2016.

The country also imported $15.462 billion worth of goods from Iran in the 10-month period, 29 percent more compared to the same period of 2016.

China’s imports from Iran amounted to $1.572 billion in October 2017, while the figure stood at $1.442 billion in October 2016.

China mainly imports crude oil from Iran, which has witnessed price rise in recent months.

Trade turnover between the two countries was $51 billion in 2014, 31 percent more compared to the preceding year.

The figure stood at $34 billion in 2015, indicating a 34 percent plunge.

In 2016, trade turnover between Iran and China stood at $31.2 billion, down 7.7 percent from 2015.
