China rescue team investigates almost all Sanchi parts
January 19, 2018 - The Chinese rescue team almost investigated all parts of Iranian oil tanker except the anti-piracy safe room, rescue commander said.
Due to the toxic gases, entering the safe room was impossible, he told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Friday.
'Despite the danger of explosion and toxic gases release, a four-member rescue team entered the ship,' he said.
'We searched all sections but two dead bodies were discovered on the deck,' he added.
'As we were running out of oxygen we just found two bodies and the black box of the tanker,' he noted.
The 30 Iranian and the two Bangladeshi sailors, who were members of the crew, had unfortunately been killed due to toxic gases and the huge size of the fire which embraced the tanker since the occurrence of the tragic incident, Head of Ports and Maritime Organization Mohammad Rastad told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday morning.
