Airport operator AP II allocates Rp 11 trillion capex in 2019
The Jakarta Post | December 16, 2018- State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) has allocated Rp 11 trillion (US$755.74 million) for 2019 to be used to expand the airports under its operatorship.
“Most of the funds will be used to expand Soekarno-Hatta International Airport,” said AP II spokesman Yado Yarismano said in Jakarta on Thursday as quoted by kontan.co.id.
He explained that AP II would renovate Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of the largest airport in the country located in Tangerang, Banten in trying to expand its capacity.
“There will be an expansion of the east cross connection taxiway and we will also develop a third runway to increase capacity,” Yado said, adding that other funds would be used for the development of infrastructure in other airports, such as those in Palembang and Padang.
Serving some 63 million passengers annually, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the world's 17th busiest airport, according to Airports Council International (ACI). AP II is in the process of acquiring land for a third runway at the airport to boost its capacity to 100 million passengers by 2025. (bbn)
