OIC General Secretariat Condemns Terrorist Blast at TelAfr County, Northern Iraq

26/12/2018- The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) issued a strong condemnation of the criminal and terrorist attack that targeted innocent citizens in the county of TelAfr, in northern Iraq, on 25 December 2018, resulting in fatalities and injuries among the innocent civilians.

The OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Othaimeen, extended his condolences to the families of the victims who have lost their lives as a result of this brutal and terrorist act. The Secretary General expressed his wishes for prompt recovery to the injured and prayed to God to spare Iraq any future harm.

The Secretary General renewed the OIC’s readiness to work hand in hand with the Iraqi Government and all political factions in favour of an Iraqi reconciliation within the framework of the OIC initiative following the Baghdad Conference for Iraqi national reconciliation.

The Secretary General also reiterated the OIC’s firm and unwavering stand against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
