Uzbekistan to help to restore the textile industry of Afghanistan
08.04.2019- On 31 March 2019, a delegation of the Uztextileprom Association visited Kabul (Islamic Republic of Afghanistan), the press service of the Association said in a statement.
The visit was organized pursuant to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 30 January 2018 with the aim of implementing the approved measures under bilateral agreements and establishing cooperation in the field of textile production in Afghanistan.
It should be noted that in early March, in order to study the state of the textile industry of Afghanistan, the delegation of the Uztextileprom Association visited this country. During the study tour, domestic specialists visited Afghan cotton processing plants and textile mills.
Within the framework of the current visit, the Uzbek delegation held talks with Shafiq Shahran, the Director General of the Association of State Enterprises and Corporations of Afghanistan, as well as the head of the Department of Public Corporations of the Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan, Bilal Safi.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in the field of textile industry were discussed.
Following the talks, a Memorandum of Cooperation on resumption of activities of textile production enterprises of Afghanistan was signed, within the framework of which the Uzbek side intends to provide advisory and technical assistance.
In particular, Uzbekistan will assist in the development of project documentation for the project of restoration of textile enterprises in Afghanistan.
In addition, it is planned to organize training courses for specialists in the textile industry in Afghanistan at the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry and advanced training at domestic enterprises in the industry.
