Tajikistan, Uzbekistan sign agreements worth $20 mln
AKIPress | October 13, 2017- Uzbek and Tajik businessmen signed agreements worth about $20 million during the business forum in Dushanbe, Sputnik-Tajikistan reported.
The exhibition of Uzbek industrial goods was held in Dushanbe on April 17-20 for the first time in 25 years.
The business forum brought together more than 160 Uzbek manufacturers.
“A positive dynamics of trade turnover between the two countries gives us hope for further increase of the mutual trade,” Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan Faiziddin Kakhhorzoda said.
According to him, the two countries have a potential of development of cooperation in agriculture, food and textile industry, production of construction materials, transport and engineering.
According to the Uzbek side, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan increased by 17.8% compared to 2015 up to $197 million, in January-September 2017, it amounted to $178.2 million (+ 25.2%). There are 24 enterprises with the participation of Tajik capital in Uzbekistan, while in Tajikistan – nine companies with investments and participation of the Uzbek companies.
