2020-November-24

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Economy Minister Farhad Dejpasand said that $3.8 billion worth of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) have been attracted in the country in the seven months of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020-October 21, 2020).

The Iranian economy minister said that it is expected that the volume of foreign investment will be increased before the termination of the current Iranian year (will end on March 20, 2021) and in coming years.

Dejpasand reiterated that foreign investment, valued at $3.8 billion, has been attracted in the country during March 20, 2020-October 21, 2020.

Referring to the outbreak of the COVID-19 in the country, the Iranian economy minister said, "Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance managed to ease problems of entrepreneurs and those who are active in the economic sector in line with settling problems caused by the adverse effects of coronavirus.”

In relevant remarks in early June, President Hassan Rouhani reiterated once again that despite US harsh sanctions and 'economic terrorism' Iran has decided to grow economically.
